Nexor First to Win Intellect Business Professional Certificate
Nexor was this week awarded the first Intellect Business Professional Certificate (BPC) – a recognised mark of quality and professionalism.
Developed by Intellect, the UK trade association for the IT, telecoms and electronics industries, the Business Professional Certificate indicates professionalism and commitment to quality across a company’s operations.
“We are delighted to recognise the work of Nexor by awarding them the Intellect Business Professional Certificate. The processes in place meet the challenging standards and we have been impressed by the company’s enthusiasm and commitment to see opportunities to improve” says John Higgins CBE, director general of Intellect.
The Intellect BPC was created by business people who are already creating and sharing best practice and who are motivated to improve standards and ultimately the reputation of the industry. It is an assurance of quality to clients who want to work with the best suppliers available.
Nexor chief executive, Steve Kingan comments: “We work in defence, and our market expects a mark of quality. We’re working with very professional people and we have to be able to perform in exactly the same way as the bigger guys. We have invested heavily over the years in recognised business process and improvement initiatives, including ISO9001, BS27001 and CMMi, and I am delighted to have contributed to the Intellect BPC process and to be the first company to achieve it. The BPC is an ideal first step for companies on the professionalism ladder; it is good news for individual companies – and for the whole industry”.
The scheme covers ten components: information security policy, business continuity, project management, bid review, customer care, corporate and social responsibility, human resources, customer references, professional indemnity and escrow (optional).
