Nexor Launches Border Gateway Suite for Secure Information Exchange
Nexor, a provider of high grade security solutions to the military and government sectors, is pleased to announce the release of the Nexor Border Gateway Suite. The suite, comprising a range of proven Nexor components, is underpinned by a new design philosophy which enables flexible configuration in support of standards-compliant interoperability.
Today's climate of coalition based operations and Network Enabled Capability has resulted in a growing requirement for the interconnectivity of diverse communication environments and security domains. Standards are emerging for trusted information exchange that can be applied both within and between domains to enable secure interoperability between disparate systems. To address both existing and emerging needs, Nexor has developed the Nexor Border Gateway Suite.
The architecture that underpins the Nexor Border Gateway Suite allows for complete flexibility by being platform, message store, message transfer agent and enterprise directory agnostic. In addition, the Nexor Border Gateway supports a range of security protocols, content types and transport protocols. Key features of the Nexor Border Gateway include:
- Format conversion between SMTP and X.400 systems
- Support for secure inter-organisational communications as defined by the CCEB ACP145 standard
-
Support for multiple security policies and interfacing between them by:
- The verification, removal and application signatures as appropriate
- The verification and mapping of security labels between different message locations and label formats
- Support for high latency, low or unreliable, bandwidth messaging systems
- Virus scanning of messages using 3rd party virus scan engines
- Content checking of messages
- Comprehensive APIs to allow integration of 3rd party applications
Based on Nexor’s high performance message switch and utilising the concept of resilient channel based architecture, Nexor Border Gateway is designed to work on a single server, thereby reducing costs. Implementation of the chosen gateway configuration is achieved through an intuitive installation process and managed through the Nexor Management Console. Initially released on Windows, it will also be available on Solaris and may be offered on other platforms upon request.
