Systematic and Nexor join forces
Systematic, a provider of business critical systems for the defence and healthcare sectors and Nexor, a provider of high grade security products and services to the military and government, are collaborating to combine Systematic’s IRIS product interoperability suite with Nexor’s military messaging product suite.
The announcement signals the creation of a strong, standards-driven, off-the-shelf technology base for military messaging and command and control systems. As agreed in the partnership agreement, signed in December 2005, the two companies will work together to create a fully compatible suite of military messaging product components.
Michael Holm, managing director of Systematic, comments: “Joining forces with Nexor demonstrates our commitment to facilitating interoperability. Both companies are highly respected in their respective domains and, together, we can offer world-wide military customers further reductions in time, cost and risk.”
Steve Kingan, chief executive officer of Nexor, adds: “In a specialised marketplace such as ours, it makes sense to bring the experts together to ease the burden of product selection for the customer."
The main product components from each company will be made compatible using a common Microsoft Application Programme Interface (MAPI) property set. This approach tightly integrates the products while allowing continued independent operation, where appropriate.
The customer will choose either Nexor’s Defender for Outlook or Systematic’s IRIS messaging client as the front end of their system, depending on their specific requirements. In either case, the ability to send and receive messages to and from each other’s systems will become possible and the relative strengths of the two product ranges are combined in full.
